What are the health benefits of exercise?

Regular exercise and physical activity may

 *   Help you control your weight. Along with diet, exercise plays an important role in controlling your weight and preventing obesity. To maintain your weight, the calories you eat and drink must equal the energy you burn. To lose weight, you must use more calories than you eat and drink.

*    Reduce your risk of heart diseases. Exercise strengthens your heart and improves your circulation. The increased blood flow raises the oxygen levels in your body. This helps lower your risk of heart diseases such as high cholesterol, coronary artery disease, and heart attack. Regular exercise can also lower your blood pressure and triglyceride levels.

*    Help your body manage blood sugar and insulin levels. Exercise can lower your blood sugar level and help your insulin work better. This can cut down your risk for metabolic syndrome and type 2 diabetes. And if you already have one of those diseases, exercise can help you to manage it.

*    Help you quit smoking. Exercise may make it easier to quit smoking by reducing your cravings and withdrawal symptoms. It can also help limit the weight you might gain when you stop smoking.

 *   Improve your mental health and mood. During exercise, your body releases chemicals that can improve your mood and make you feel more relaxed. This can help you deal with stress and reduce your risk of depression.

 *   Help keep your thinking, learning, and judgment skills sharp as you age. Exercise stimulates your body to release proteins and other chemicals that improve the structure and function of your brain.

 *   Strengthen your bones and muscles. Regular exercise can help kids and teens build strong bones. Later in life, it can also slow the loss of bone density that comes with age. Doing muscle-strengthening activities can help you increase or maintain your muscle mass and strength.

  *  Reduce your risk of some cancers, including colon, breast , uterine, and lung cancer.

 *   Reduce your risk of falls. For older adults, research shows that doing balance and muscle-strengthening activities in addition to moderate-intensity aerobic activity can help reduce your risk of falling.

 *   Improve your sleep. Exercise can help you to fall asleep faster and stay asleep longer.

 *   Improve your sexual health. Regular exercise may lower the risk of erectile dysfunction (ED) in men. For those who already have ED, exercise may help improve their sexual function. In women, exercise may increase sexual arousal.

*   Increase your chances of living longer. Studies show that physical activity can reduce your risk of dying early from the leading causes of death, like heart disease and some cancers.

Have you ever thought about the meaning or what "Live Well" seems to be all about?

Well, it's the activities we venture in our every day life that lead to a virtuous life.
For us to Live Well requires more Live Well Wellbeing, Healthy Life Concept.

Don't let them tell you that you can't, and they won't help you just so you know. Keep on pushing because at a certain point in life, thoughts may turn to how well you’ve lived, how much you’ve accomplished relative to your goals, how well you’ve treated those you love and care about. Most of all, however, time seems to slip on by without too much self-reflection.

To live well, especially when you come to the latter part of your life and are looking back at decades of activity, means that you go with your heart and your head and give it everything you’ve got. Then you know that it’s all your effort. You can take pride in this, for it also reinforces your commitment to living life well.

No matter what stage of life you’re in, rich life comes with practice and conscious intention.

Here are some additional tips on how to live well:

  A.  Put forth complete effort.

  B. Be in the present.

  C. Surround yourself with people you enjoy and can relate well with.

  D. Always strive to learn something new each day.

  E. Forgive yourself for your mistakes.

  F.  Make it a point to let go of grudges.

  G.  Help someone else, and do so without any expectation of something in return.

 H.   Find the beauty in small things – a delicate flower, the sound of your child’s laughter, the sight of a brilliant sunset, the touch of your loved one, the heady aroma and taste of a satisfying meal.

  I.  Explore what piques your curiosity.

 J.  Follow your dreams.

 K.  Never give up on what matters most.

 L.   Be fully accountable for your actions.

M.  Live with integrity.

 N.   Find the lesson in mistakes, large or small.

Though is not easy to maintain nor keep to these, but I encourage everyone here to try to adhere to the above, as it will help you to build and actualize the the real person which you were created to be.
Life is not always rosy, but always strive and never give up on yourself. Live your life everyday and figure out the beauty in everything you do not the sorrow.

The social life you have can be an important source of fun, support, pleasure, happiness and even sense of security. All of which play an important role in maintaining good physical and emotional health. That is one of the major reasons why we need to be so mindful of our social life.
No one has ever wished to live a regrettable life, but we have the keys in our hand to choose the way forward.
Don’t assume that because you don’t feel like being social that other people don’t want to be around you. Remind yourself that your life is richer and achieving good health is so much easier when you stay connected to friends and family.
When you make plans with someone, you are actually helping to feed the other person’s social needs as well. It’s something to feel good about. Because when you show interest and support in your friend’s life, they are more likely to do the same for you.

Focus on the experience of just being with others without worming about whether you have a lot to do or you are being taking care of the bills. Hanging out or socializing doesn’t mean it must surely have an objective or goal, sometimes you go out to have fun, relax and enjoy yourself. Give yourself permission to laugh, don’t feel guilty about having fun or laughing.
Often, when we are not feeling good, we feel like we are not allowed to enjoy ourselves when we are around others, relax yourself, have fun and laugh, There is a kind of joy that comes out from it; which we feel naturally, this happiness helps to keep us on a healthy ground.
Notwithstanding, hangout with those of positive influence. Be guided!

COVID-19: FCTA INAUGURATES 506-BED ISOLATION, TREATMENT CENTRE

The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), on Monday, inaugurated a 506-bed COVID-19 isolation and treatment centre located at Idu Railway Station in Abuja.
FCT Minister, Malam Muhammad Musa Bello, while inaugurating the four-storey building facility, said it was a private sector intervention coordinated by the Ministerial Expert Advisory Committee on COVID-19 to contain the killer virus in the nation’s capital.
According to him: “As you are aware, in the last one week all processes of gradual easing of lockdown has commenced in FCT. However, this has shown that the wider community is not very compliant with respect to social distancing and other protocols.

“So, I want to use this opportunity based on what we have here and what we have at Asokoro Hospital as well as what we have at Karu General Hospital to say that we have enough redundancy of bed space but that should not make us be complacent.
“Because if we do not continue with what we are doing now with a lot of restrictions and compliance then if this thing gets out of hand we may wake up and found that the facilities we have might not be enough,” Bello warned.
Malam Bello, who disclosed that FCT was almost having a redundancy of bed spaces’ with about 1000 bed spaces to 356 COVID-19 patients, warned residents to observe all protocols so that the pandemic does not escalate to make the available facilities inadequate for containment.

The Minister said FCT Administration is working very hard to stop the escalation of Covid-19 pandemic in the territory, stressing that there would be strict enforcement of all protocols to control the spread of the disease and urged all the residents of the FCT to take the fight against COVID-19 as a personal fight for survival.
He said in addition to the provision of medical facilities, FCTA was also providing palliative items to the most vulnerable and poorest of the poor in the Territory to cushion the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic on them.
Earlier, the Chairman, FCT Ministerial Expert Advisory Committee onCOVID-19, Dr Aliyu Modibbo, urged Nigerians to be committed to the ongoing fight against the pandemic and assured that his team would not relax until COVID-19 was contained in the FCT and the country at large.
“At the inauguration of this Committee, the FCT Minister charged us to mobilise human financial and material resources to augment and compliment what the FCTA is doing in the fight against COVID-19 pandemic.
“In particular, the Minister task us to take over the unoccupied Railway School facility at Idu terminal to liaise with the FCTA to transform it into COVID-19 isolation and treatment centre within the shortest possible time,” he said.
IHEDIOHA TO COURT: HALT ‘N19.63B’ FRAUD PROBE

Former Imo State Governor Emeka Ihedioha has asked an Owerri High Court to stop the House of Assembly from probing him for allegedly mismanaging N19.63 billion council funds.
The state Auditor-General for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs had issued an interim audit report detailing how N19.63 billion fraudulently disappeared from the Local Government accounts between May and December 31, 2019.
Apparently worried that the House of Assembly may probe the allegation, Ihedioha applied for a perpetual injunction restraining it from investigating him.

In May 5 suit filed at the Owerri Judicial Division, the former governor, through an origination summons, is seeking an order of perpetual injunction restraining the House of Assembly from inviting him for an investigation into the alleged missing funds.
Imo State House of Assembly, the Speaker and Clerk are the defendants.
The suit is also seeking an order to set aside any summon or invitation to Ihedioha, by the House or its agents, to appear before it for probe.
Two days after the originating summons was filed, Ihedioha’s lawyer, S.A Anyalewechi, dispatched a letter to the Speaker, asking him to restrain the House and its agents from inviting his client for an investigation.

The Assembly is expected to respond to the suit ahead of hearing.
The state government, on April 14, approved a request by the Auditor-General for Local Governments and Chieftaincy Affairs to recover N19.63 billion allegedly misappropriated by the Ihedioha administration.
The money was allegedly taken from the State-Local Government Joint Accounts Allocation Committee (JAAC), through the Bureau for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs (BLGCA).
Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Declan Emelumba said the sum was discovered during a routine audit of the accounts and records of JAAC for the fiscal year ended December 31, 2019.
Emelumba said the government’s action was in line with the New Imo Agenda of transparency in public service and financial discipline.
According to the Commissioner, the money was illegally withdrawn from JAAC account without any Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), Stores Receipt Vouchers (SRV) or Stores Issue Vouchers (SIV).
According to him, the Ihedioha administration paid a ‘crony’ N1.215 billion for unsupplied construction equipment without any document.
“There was also an unconscionable mandatory withdrawal of N2.405 billion by the Bureau for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs (BLGCA). Others are payment of N9.378 billion to local government councils for an undisclosed purpose. A firm also received N245 million for no disclosed purpose.
“Other fictitious and fraudulent withdrawals include compulsory returns from councils to the BLGCA to the tune of N2.404 billion.  This was deducted from the allocated funds of the LGAs,” he added.
Ihedioha and those named in the report had denied the allegations.
PLANT EXTRACT IN MADAGASCAR’S COVID-19 ‘REMEDY’ GROWS IN NIGERIA – FG

The Federal Government has said the ‘Artemisia annua’, the plant extract in Madagascar’s announced ‘remedy’ for coronavirus also grows in Nigeria.
The Minister of Health, Dr Osagie Ehanire, revealed this during a briefing by the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 in Abuja on Monday.
Ehanire said samples of the said plant would be got from Madagascar and compared with the ones which grow here in the country.
He said, “The cure from Madagascar has been making the news and we have promised to get samples of the herb or the botanical products that is there for analysis and (also) use (that) as an opportunity to speak with the health authorities, particularly the scientific community, on how they use it.

“We will give that to the research community with us here to examine and see what they can do with it. We understand that it is something called Artemisia annua which also grows here but if we get it, we will like to compare it with the strain here whether they are identical or whether they are similar and see what properties they have. Things like that are subjected to analysis.
“All countries in the world are interested in finding a cure and we are no different and we will look at all options, possibilities, and promises that were made. But before we give them to our people, we will ensure they are safe and make sure they work.”
FACILITIES OVER STRETCHED, WE’LL STAGGER SUBSEQUENT EVACUATION OF NIGERIANS ABROAD, SAYS MINISTER

Nigerians anxious to return home would have to exercise patience as facilities for their accommodation back home were already overstretched.
Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr Geoffrey Onyeama, made the disclosure on Monday at the weekly briefing of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19.
The Foreign Affairs Minister, who put the figures of returnees so far from the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom and the United States of America at 600, revealed that there were Nigerians in China, France, India, South Africa, Sudan, among others who want to return the country.

He however lamented that the position of the medical experts in the PTF team was that the facilities at home were already overstretched which necessitated the decision to stagger subsequent evacuation moves.
He said: “Now we have over 600 evacuees in various accommodation in Lagos and in Abuja and as I understand from our medical people, we are at saturation point and the maximum we can really cope with and able to deliver adequately and professionally with care that we are supposed to.
“This will mean, we will be staggering our flight in evacuating Nigerians and making sure that we do with the ones that we have in place before bringing back others.
“But we certainly hope that with adequate period of time, we will be able to bring back some of the others out there.

“There are many still out there: Nigerians in China, in India, Canada, South Africa, Sudan, France Lebanon, Egypt and all these really call to question our capacity to absorb such large numbers and truly, our system is being strained and we really have to take it easier and also to ensure that we can deliver optimally as we are supposed to.”
Mr Onyeama however has cheering news for local airlines operators as he revealed that they would be considered in subsequent evacuation flights.
“Another issue that has come up in the media has been the issue of using Nigerian carriers. I have explained in the past and I will do that just very quickly again.
“The carrier that came from the UAE wasn’t a government organised one and the one from UK was one that was coming already and the one that came from the US was the one that had been arranged and pretty much it was a private sector initiative.
“The government is being mindful of the importance and the need to use local carriers and I am happy to say that the pipeline flights, the ones we had in process of arranging are all Nigerian carriers. So, henceforth going forward, we hope that we will be using only Nigerian carriers.”

Goal setting Tips

True success doesn’t come from the outside but from within. Cancel that which disturbs you. You can’t simply say I WANT and expect it to happen.
Goal setting is the process that starts with careful considerations of what you want to achieve and ends with a lot of hard work to actually do it.
Don’t be lazy or reluctant to start it, cancel procrastination and get hold of your dreams.
Make sure it’s possible to achieve the goals you set. If you set a goal that you have no hope of achieving, you will only demoralize yourself and erode your confidence. Goal setting is an ongoing activity not just a means to an end.

Build in reminders to keep yourself on track, make regular time-slots available to renew your goals. It is much more than simply saying you want something to happen
Taking greater personal accountability is the key to succeeding in everything you do.

Good morning

Monday, 11 May 2020

Greatness comes from the desire to do extraordinary things, to reach beyond the status quo and relentlessly chase your dreams. It all starts with setting and achieving goals.
There is greatness inside us, but first, we must cancel that which disturbs our goal setting.
The process of goal setting helps you to choose where you want to be in life. By knowing precisely what you want to achieve, you have to know where you have to concentrate your efforts, put in more efforts, though you will also spot the distractions that can so easily lead you astray.
Always remember to aim high but start low, celebrate and keep going.

Finding a compatible partner is very significant and many people feel trapped in marriage because they married the wrong person. However, you need to focus on two things; one is the level of your commitment and secondly is finding the right partner.

The quest of freedom is not all about lack of responsibilities or lack of commitments but instead, it is about finding the things that resonate with your personal interest, time, health and ability to dedicate yourself to the things that is most important to you. A loving partner will help you do just that and you can do the same for them.
The power and strength that people gain from a happy and healthy relationship is virtually unparallel and represents a whole new kind of independence. It always makes you feel like you got a back up every time.

Understanding the difference between single life and married life especially when it comes to finance, emotion and responsibility can be beneficial to us when making marital decision.
The difference between single and married life vary from very little to very huge, but there are a few difference that serve to illustrate the preference among male and female. Responsibility is one of the issue influencing the preference among male and female. Single life is just being self-responsible and married life is responsible for partners.

An unhealthy relationship is based on power and control, not on equality and respect. You may not think deep about the unhealthy behavior at early stage of your relationship. However, insults, jealous, yelling, dishonesty, disrespect, nagging, physical violence etc are at their root.
Being in a relationship isn’t easy, but healthy couples know how to take the ups and downs just to maintain a healthy relationship. Want to feel loved and connected to your partner? Then learn how to build and maintain a romantic relationship that is healthy, happy and satisfying.

Establish a high level of communication.
When you talk to your partner, tell them about your day, express yourself politely to your partner when you feel bad about something or certain behavior that needs to be corrected, be open with what bothers you and what you enjoy. Talk to your partner about your emotional wants and needs. Ask questions and listen to their answers. Talking through problems builds trust and makes your relationship stronger. Always let your partner to know when something they do makes you happy. You should be able to read your partners body language and expression to be able to tell whether something is wrong and to feel comfortable bringing it up. By opening yourself up, you are expressing openness and trust in your partner; also by being so open with them you invite them to be just as honest with you. Respect one another’s opinion and contributions.

The human spirit includes our intellectual, emotions, fears, passions and creativity. It is this spirit that provides us the unique ability to comprehend and understand.
Having in mind that the bible reveals that man is a tripartite being possessing a spirit, a soul and a body. It is this sense of life and peace in our spirit or the absence of it that tells us whether what we are thinking, speaking or doing is in harmony with Christ in us.
If we lack this sense of life and peace, it is an indication that the Lord in us is not pleased and that we need to stop what we are doing and turn to him.
When we allow the spirit of God to lead our lives, “The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children” {Romans 8:16}.
As children of God, we are no longer led by our own spirit but by God’s spirit, who leads us to eternal life.
The human spirit has a voice, we call that voice conscience, and sometimes we call it intuition, guidance or an inner voice. But whatever it is; is your spirit speaking to you? As you give this new born spirit the privilege of meditating on the word of God, the word becomes the source of its information, your spirit will become strong and the inward voice of your conscience educated in the spirit will become a true guide.
Knowing our spirit is the key to experiencing Christ, so we need to be impressed with the importance of our spirit and cancel that which disturbs our spirit. We need to become more conscious that we are spirit beings, not just mental or physical beings, we need to train our spirits so they will become safer guides.

CANCEL, WHAT DISTURBS YOUR SPIRIT

The Spirit is the part of you that is not physical and that consists of your character and feelings.  Spirit can also be seen as the courage and determination that helps people to survive in difficult times and to keep their way of life and their beliefs. Spirit is the liveliness and energy that someone shows in what they do.
The human spirit is a component of human philosophy, psychology, art and knowledge. It is the mental part of humanity. It can be used with the same meaning as “human soul”. Human spirit is sometimes used to refer to the higher component of human nature in contrast to soul or psyche which can refer to the ego or lower element. The spirit includes our intellect, emotions, fears, passion and creativity.

Our spirits can be educated. Also our spirits can be built up in strength and trained just as our bodies can be built up and trained. We must first realize that Christ is the spirit in our spirit. Christ will always be put in first place in everything we do, and then, there we will experience Christ in our spirit.

Our consideration should be – Am I in the spirit or in the soul? Am I doing this by myself or by the lord? Well, there are unpleasant energies that build up in our lives over a period of time, or even longer. The main cause for negativity is undesirable human emotions and actions. These may include anger, jealousy, violence etc.

These negative energies would draw your spirit down to things that are evil in sight of men and God. Get rid of a negative spirit in you, whichever one you might be facing now, within you. You know it, tell yourself the truth and stand bold because one of the things that often work to get rid of a negative spirit is to tell it to leave. You have to be firm, control your fear and let it know that it’s not welcome.
It’s interesting how often this has worked for quite a number of people.

Getting rid of the negative energies will help you to cancel all the things that disturb your spirit. Educate your spirit and think of the purpose of your life, let your spirit guide you to establish your purpose in life.

Have you ever looked deep within your mind to notice the thoughts that occupy most of your time? If you could be mindful of what you say to yourself, what would you see?

Life moves so fast and we are so distracted with the worries or burden coming from our heart, sometimes we just need to slow down, feel, think and just be. I often asked myself- why we are so hard on ourselves, why do we at times take on the role of a victim instead of looking at each experience as a learning opportunity to grow. Never allow things that aren't worth it to eat up your heart.

Some say peace of mind lies in security, some say it’s about decluttering, and finding stillness and calm in life. While some say it’s about acceptance and letting go but I say it’s all about things you do to please yourself. Your heart deserves happiness; you won’t have a peaceful mind if you allow negativity to dominate your thinking.
Try to understand others rather than judging them. Forgive others and free yourself. Radiate compassion and be a Good Samaritan. You will also add to your own sense of self esteem. You will know the heart and soul of the peaceful life if you cancel all the things that disturb your heart.
“A happy heart makes the face cheerful but heartache crushes the spirit” ---proverb 15:13.

Instead of stress and discontentment allow the peace of Christ to rule your heart, our every moment needs to be soaked with the peace that passes all understanding.
The heart is the core of our being and the bible sets high importance on keeping our hearts pure. “Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life”-----proverb 4:23.

For a person to be saved, then the heart must be changed.

Let’s take a moment to reflect on the things or ways to create your own happiness; there are so many ways in which you can help yourself to create happiness, they include:

- State your achievements,

- Tell yourself today will be awesome
- Forget being perfect and accept yourself as is

Responsilities In Marriage
    #Part2

You don’t need to feel as if you are in a never-ending battle over house hold responsibilities and roles when contemplating to get married or to remain single, you and your partner needs to work closely as teammates in order to overcome the charges and responsibilities facing marriage.
Your relationship will always lack behind if you and your partner constantly go from being teammates to opponents. Your marriage will quickly  start to feel unsafe and unresolved power struggles leads to a relational tug of war over who will do what in order to manage the home, the result can fracture the bond that holds a couple together.

Apart from being faithful to your partner, sharing household chores and responsibilities ranks very high on issues associated with a successful marriage. This means that if you can learn to share chores, your marriage will have one of the hallmarks of unity.
A fair and mutually satisfactory plan for dividing up household chores begins with mutual understanding. It’s a matter of knowing your partner inside and out learning about his or her special gifts and talents, finding out what makes him or her tick and discovering what he or she really enjoy doing.

People with vibrant and successful marriage tend to be those who have found mutually satisfactory ways of setting the house chores and responsibilities between themselves. They understands that the only thing that matters is how they work together to achieve their desired goals and not what other people might think about them because there is no comparison in marriage.
Many marriages fail today when comparison comes in. we all have our discrepancies and different roles and responsibility when it has to do with marriage and it should be done in a way that best suits you and your partner so as to achieve the desired marriage goals.

Sunday, 3 May 2020

Obviously, you don’t have the ultimate responsibility to bother yourself for others when you are single and you have only one responsibility which is you and maybe your parents.
A lot of people run away from marriage when it comes to responsibilities. Some people prefer to be single than to take the responsibilities of marriage.

Why do people run away or avoid marriage when it has to do with responsibilities? When you can easily negotiate with your partner on how to manage the affairs of the family.

They utilize their individual gifts and talents so they negotiate ways to divide household chores fairly. (Philippians 2:4)

Responsibilities in marriage should not be one sided, it’s something both partners come together to tackle in order to provide a reasonable solution to their “Needs” and “Wants”.
It’s a struggle that needs the cooperation of both couples. Whoever is financially stable takes the front lead regardless of the sex. This is what a happily married life should be or look like and not to step out to announce to people how you run your home. The finances might be coming from the husband or the wife or even from both partners but nevertheless, it doesn’t warrant discrimination or abuse. It’s something that has to do with the affairs of the blessed union, regardless of where it’s coming from but no one is meant to relax, leaving all the work load and responsibilities on one partner. Everyone needs to contribute in one way or the other.
Having responsibilities does not affect your social life but rather you do it nicely knowing that it won’t affect your family because that is your primary assignment the very moment you agreed to tie the knot with your partner.
However, as married people settle into their roles, their partnership allows them to meet-up with life’s demand together. Marriage offers partnership, someone with whom you can strategize with, share financial and parenting responsibilities with, do household chores and maintenance.

Sharing responsibilities means being on the same team and as a married couple you are on the same team, therefore make decisions and divide household responsibilities in a way that honors both people involved.

Galatians 6:2 says “bear one another burdens and so fulfill the law of Christ”.

Couples recognize their unique God given roles and abilities to manage everyday responsibilities. They work to reach an agreement on the question of household chores so that both partners feel satisfied with the distribution of responsibility.
CANCEL, WHAT DISTURBS YOUR HEART

It only takes a simple glance at the world news or amounting to-do list for uncertainty and restlessness to rise up and overwhelm our hearts with anxiety.

A happy heart comes from a happy life, and by that I mean a life that offers the energetic seeds for happiness. You can’t ignore your unconscious wounds and expect to blossom or allow your mind to spew limiting beliefs about how you are not worthy or skip self-care, allowing everyone else to receive before you and expect to feel joy. Yet, when this happens, it’s too easy to blame ourselves.

In order to allow the peace of Christ to rule our heart, you must first focus; we live in a world that continually demands our attention. In a lot of ways, I lost myself trying to become someone who I’m not, or rather, tried to achieve something I desire in a way that’s not natural to me. This did not help me have a happy heart.
For a long time, I felt like I had to choose on the path which allows me to find peace within, which is part of my path because the ideas may not vibe in the outer world, but they do in my inner world.

You really need to cancel whatever that disturbs your heart because your heart, mind and soul is the central point where these divergent ideas meet.

Learn to allow yourself to let loose when you feel something in your heart, you never bury it.
Cancelling that which disturbs your heart, you only need to entrust your heart with the people that you love and with the few friends that you treasure. Get excited at the prospect of having new experiences rather than gaining new things, because best feelings come from good memories and not from your possessions.
Even when you are passing through tough times, try to infect people with your positivity and confidence, with this, people can feel better through your experience.

CANCEL, WHAT DISTURBS YOUR HAPPINESS

Happiness is a sense of well-being, joy or contentment. Happiness is something that comes from within.
When people are successful, lucky or safe, they feel happy. Happiness is that feeling that comes over you when you know life is good and you can’t help but smile. It’s the opposite of sadness.
The pursuit of happiness is something everyone need and different people feel happiness for different reasons. Whenever doing something that makes you happy, people usually want to do more of it.

With the close ties between “Pleasure” and “Happiness”, you might be wondering how to differentiate them.
OED definition of Happiness describes it as a state of feeling pleasure.  The association between the two makes sense, and its common to hear the two words used interchangeably. However, when it comes to the science of positive psychology, it is important to make a distinction between the two.

Happiness as a state characterized by feelings of contentment and satisfaction with one’s life or current situation. While pleasure is more visceral in the moment experience. It often refers to the sensory-based feeling we get from experiences like receiving a compliment, eating good food, having sex etc.
Happiness is a more stable state than pleasure. Happiness generally sticks around for longer than a few moments at a time, whereas pleasure can come and go in a second. Pleasure can contribute to happiness and happiness can enhance or deepen feelings of pleasure, but the two can also be completely mutually exclusive. For example, you can feel a sense of happiness based on meaning and engagement that has nothing to do with pleasure, or you could feel pleasure but also struggle with guilt because of it, keeping you from feeling happy at the same time.
The cause is always that happiness comes from within and the effect is that the outer happiness is simply the manifestation of the inner state.

Until you are happy with who you are, you will never be happy with what you have---Zig Ziglar

I advise you to make sure you create your own happiness and be the owner of your own happiness. It is actually not that difficult to create outer happiness.
The easiest way is to do things you love and do it often, to do things that make your soul happy, to create from your soul and to express your true feelings.

Happiness will not come to you; rather it can only come from you. If you expect others to give you happiness or if your happiness relies on external circumstances, then you are destined to be disappointed sooner or later, because no one can give you true happiness except yourself, not even your sweetest lovers, best friends or any of your closest family member can bring you the constant blue sky happiness.

Don't give up!

“Most of the important things in the world have been accomplished by people who have kept on trying when there seemed to be no hope at all" – Dale Carnegie

No matter the area your goals in life have to do with, if you persevere, you will succeed. The key to success is to continue making efforts to achieve your goal even if you failed on the first attempt. The path to success is heavily spotted with obstacles, but your ability to persevere improves your odds of winning. The world you desired can be won.

You cannot achieve anything without action. Action is what makes your dreams come true. It is also action that translates plans into tangible results or goal oriented. Thinking and planning alone won’t cut it, sustained action is what separate winners from losers.

“I have not failed, I have just found 10,000 ways that won’t work” – Thomas A Edison

Don’t forget to celebrate your small wins and mini achievements along the way, forgive yourself for failing, learn from your mistakes, adjust course accordingly. But never give up. Besides you can always call on coaches, mentors, priests and others to assist you in taking better care of yourself. You need to put in the necessary efforts and resources to succeed in life.
GOVERNMENT OFFICES CAN OPEN FROM MONDAY – PRESIDENTIAL TASK FORCE

Offices nationwide can open from May 4 for workers to resume work, the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 has said.

The resumption will be based on specific grade levels, the PTF explained.

Also, the banking, construction, construction, manufacturing sectors, as well as food processing companies, will be allowed to open from Monday, the PTF further said.

The PTF noted that banks will be allowed to open from 8am to 2pm daily while observing the new restrictions put in place by the government.

National Coordinator of the PTF on Covid-19, Dr. Aliyu Sani stated these during the daily briefing by the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 pandemic.

The national coordinator said that temperature test, respiratory hygiene and restriction of gathering of not more than 20 persons will be introduced.

Sani said the task force would be engaging with state governments to make sure that the PTF have a common approach to the opening of offices.

He said: “For government offices, government staff will be allowed to resume from the 4 of May but it will be based on specific grade levels and specific days so that we can reduce the amount of congestion that we might have in our government offices and we will be discussing further with state governments to make sure that we have a common approach to this.

“Banks will be allowed to open but there will be restriction in the opening hours to between 8am to 2pm and together with all the other preventive measures I have already mentioned.

“In addition to this, from the point of agriculture and rural development, companies involved in food processing can commence operation.

“In construction sites, critical road will be allowed but waivers will be provided by state governments to enable movement.

“For the manufacturing and pharmaceutical industries, we will encourage shift work and limiting staff to only 30 to 50 per cent to maintain social distancing and pharmacy shops may remain open overnight.”

Sani however said that restrictions on social gatherings remain suspended pending review of the new measures put in place by the government.

He said that restaurants and schools remain closed.

However, Sani said that neighbourhood markets are allowed to operate during the relaxed lockdown.

He said: “Restaurant will not be opened to the publics but will be allowed to engage in home delivery of food.

“Schools will remain closed till further evaluation. Schools are encouraged to continue with e-learning and virtual teaching.

“Social activities such as the use of recreational parks. Communal sports, concert, social parties and movie theaters will be suspended until further review.

“Neighborhood markets will continue to open with the same standard and restrictions that we have applied in the past as well as supermarkets, and retail stores.”

He urged those above 65 year old and with mobility challenge to avoid co-mingling with the general public so that they protect themselves from catching Covid-19.

“There will be general pieces of advice, for instance, discouraging persons above the age of 65 and those with mobility challenge from co-mingling with the general public so that they protect themselves from catching Covid -19 because they are the ones that are most likely to develop severe illness.

“We will be providing additional details and hopefully the implementation guidelines and the protocols will follow over the next day or two to allow businesses and offices to prepare for these changes,” he added.

Sometimes, problems and difficulties are the triggers that awaken the desire to grow and lead to making changes in one’s life. At other times, people are inspired to take steps towards personal growth after reading inspiring stories or books, even seeing a movie or reading about people who achieved success.
Just like a few months ago, I stumbled into an inspiring story on the internet and I would like to share it here.

One day the employees of a company reached their office to find a big notice on the door on which was written: yesterday, the person who has been hindering your growth in this company passed away. We invite you to join the funeral at the gym” in the beginning, they all got sad for the death of one of their colleagues, but after a while they started getting curious to know who was that man who hindered the growth of his colleagues and the company itself. People got eager to know who this person was. The more people reached the coffin the more eager they got.
Everyone thought who is this guy who was hindering my progress? Well, at least he died. One by one the thrilled employees got closer to the coffin and when they looked inside it, they suddenly became speechless. They stood nearby the coffin, shocked and in silence, as if someone had touched the deepest part of their soul. There was a mirror inside the coffin; everyone who looked inside it could see himself.
There was also a sign next to the mirror that says “there is only one person who is capable to set limits to your growth: IT IS YOU. You are the only person who can influence your happiness, your realization and your success. You are the only person who can revolutionize your life. You are the only person who can help yourself.

Lesson:
Life does not change when your boss changes,
When your friends changes, When your parents changes,
When your partner changes, When your company changes.

Your life changes when you change, when you go beyond your limiting beliefs, when you realize that you are the only one responsible for your life.
“The most important relationship you can have is the one you have with yourself”.

*Eating Fruit on Empty Stomach: by Prof. Ken Anugweje, UNIPORT.*

This will open your eyes!
Read to the end; and then, send it to Others on your list as I just did to you!

*Prof Anugweje treats terminal ill Cancer patients by an* *"unorthodox" way and many patients recovered. He is also a sports medicine specialist.*
*He insists that all athletes eat fruits on empty stomach.*

Before he used solar energy to clear the illnesses of his patients, he believes on natural healing in the body against illnesses. See his article below.

It is one of the strategies to heal cancer. As of late, my success rate in curing Cancer is about 80%.

Cancer patients shouldn't die. The cure for cancer is already found - its in the way we eat fruits.

It is whether you believe it or not.

*I am sorry for the hundreds of Cancer patients who die under the conventional treatments.*

*EATING FRUITS*

We all think eating fruits means just buying fruits, cutting it and just popping it into our mouths.

It's not as easy as you think. It's important to know how and when to eat the fruits.

*What is the correct way of eating fruits?*

*IT MEANS NOT EATING FRUITS AFTER YOUR MEALS!*

*FRUITS SHOULD BE EATEN ON AN EMPTY STOMACH:*

*If you eat fruits on empty stomach, it will play a major role to detoxify your system, supplying you with a great deal of energy for weight loss and other life activities.*

*FRUIT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT FOOD.*

Let's say you eat two slices of bread and then a slice of fruit.

*The slice of fruit is ready to go straight through the stomach into the intestines, but it is prevented from doing so due to the bread taken before the fruit.*

*In the meantime the whole meal of bread & fruit rots and ferments and turns to acid.*

The minute the fruit comes into contact with the food in the stomach and digestive juices, the entire mass of food begins to spoil.

*So please eat your fruits on an empty stomach or before your meals!*

You have heard people complaining :
Every time I eat watermelon I burp, when I eat durian my stomach bloats up, when I eat a banana I feel like running to the toilet, etc.. etc..

*Actually all this will not arise if you eat the fruit on an empty stomach.*

The fruit mixes with the putrefying of other food and produces gas and hence you will bloat !

*Greying hair, balding, nervous outburst and dark circles under the eyes all these will NOT happen if you take fruits on an empty stomach.*

*There is no such thing as some fruits, like orange and lemon are acidic, because all fruits become alkaline in our body, according to Dr. Herbert Shelton who did research on this matter.*

If you have mastered the correct way of eating fruits, you have the  SECRET of beauty, longevity, health, energy, happiness and normal weight.

When you need to drink fruit juice - drink only  fresh fruit juice, NOT from the cans, packs or bottles.

*Don't even drink juice that has been heated up.*

*Don't eat cooked fruits because you don't get the nutrients at all.*

You only get its taste.
Cooking destroys all the vitamins.

But eating a whole fruit is better than drinking the juice.

If you should drink the fresh fruit juice, drink it mouthful by mouthful slowly, because you must let it mix with your saliva before swallowing it.

You can go on a 3-day fruit fast to cleanse or detoxify your body.

Just eat fruits and drink fresh fruit juice throughout the 3 days.

And you will be surprised when your friends tell you how radiant you look !

*KIWI fruit:*
Tiny but mighty.
This is a good source of potassium, magnesium, vitamin E & fiber. Its vitamin C content is twice that of an orange.

*APPLE:*
An apple a day keeps the doctor away?
Although an apple has a low vitamin C content, it has antioxidants & flavonoids which enhances the activity of vitamin C thereby helping to lower the risks of colon cancer, heart attack & stroke.

*STRAWBERRY: Protective Fruit:*
Strawberries have the highest total antioxidant power among major fruits & protect the body from cancer-causing, blood vessel-clogging and free radicals.

*ORANGE: Sweetest medicine.*
Taking 2-4 oranges a day may help keep colds away, lower cholesterol, prevent & dissolve kidney stones as well as lessens the risk of colon cancer.

*WATERMELON:*
Coolest thirst quencher. Composed of 92% water, it is also packed with a giant dose of glutathione, which helps boost our immune system.

They are also a key source of lycopene the cancer fighting oxidant.
Other nutrients found in watermelon are vitamin C & Potassium.

*GUAVA & PAPAYA:*
Top awards for vitamin C. They are the clear winners for their high vitamin C content.

Guava is also rich in fiber, which helps prevent constipation.

Papaya is rich in carotene; this is good for your eyes.

*Drinking COLD water or drinks after a meal = CANCER.*

Can you believe this ?

For those who like to drink cold water or cold drinks, this article is applicable to you.

It is not nice to have a cup of cold water or cold drinks after a meal.

However, the cold  or drinks will solidify the oily stuff that you have just eaten.

It will slow down the digestion.

Once this 'sludge' reacts with the acid, it will break down and be absorbed by the intestine faster than the solid food.

It will line the intestine.

*Very soon, this will turn into FATS and lead to CANCER!*

*It is best to drink hot soup or warm water after a meal.*

*Let's be careful and be aware. The more we know the better chance we could survive.*

A cardiologist says:
if everyone who gets this mail sends it to 10 people, you can be sure that we'll save at least one life.

*So lets do it*
COVID-19: FG BOOKS HOTELS FOR RETURNING NIGERIANS

The Federal Government has booked hotel rooms in Lagos for Nigerians returning from Dubai, United Arab Emirates, on account of the coronavirus pandemic.

The citizens will be quarantined in the hotels for two weeks on arrival to ascertain their status.

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama, disclosed that the concerned individuals may be repatriated on Monday.

He had last Friday lamented the refusal of the hotels in Lagos and Abuja to offer their premises as isolation centres for the over 2,000 Nigerians awaiting evacuation abroad.

Onyeama stated that the hotels believed that accommodating the returnees may damage their brand.

But providing an update in Abuja on Tuesday, during a briefing by the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19, the minister disclosed that some hotels in Lagos have agreed to accept the returning citizens.

He said, “The low hanging fruit at the moment are those who already paid for their flight from Dubai, they were expecting to be here last week, but unfortunately, they had not cross-checked to find out the health situation. Foreign affairs was not as directly involved as we would have liked.

“Be that as it may, since they have already paid, everything is more or less in place. That flight was supposed to go to Lagos, we have made a bit more progress with hotels here in Abuja than in Lagos. But speaking to the governor, we agreed that we just have to do the first one quickly, we learn lessons and so forth. It is absolutely important to get that flight here.”

Onyeama lauded the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, for assisting with the hotel accommodations, noting that his committee was trying to bring the rates down.

He added, “We have been able to identify hotels here in Abuja and also in Lagos. I was on the phone this afternoon with the Governor of Lagos and he has done a wonderful job in trying to bring the prices of the hotels in Lagos down and we are struggling to bring the prices down here in Abuja.

“We know that a lot of people who want to come back have found themselves stuck outside for a long period of time and using resources that they did not expect to use. They also have resources challenges. We are looking at all kinds of possibilities to address that situation.”

The minister noted that the hotels were demanding advance payment, adding that the technical committee was working out the mechanism for this.

“Our arrangement is that the person (returnee) will have to pay forward and that mechanism is something we have to work out. We put a date of Monday and we are going to do everything humanly possible to try and get that plane here first,” he stated.

Motivation: Everything seems achievable when you are motivated.

Humans have many driving forces, both internal and external. Its positivity and negativity could take us up or drag us down. This can determine about the path of our lives we chose to take and this could result living well or poverty we end up.
Motivation as a reason or reasons for acting or behaving in a particular way. The dream could appear as possibly impossible, perplexing in the beginning, but with time, perseverance, hard work and not giving up at any point, your passion and hunger to realize the dream will take you there.

Motivation is often the result of actions not the cause of it getting started even in very small ways is also a form of active inspiration that naturally produces momentum.
You don’t need much motivation once you have started a behavior. Nearly all of the friction in a task is at the beginning. After you start, progress occurs more naturally, in other words, it is often easier to finish a task than to start it in the first place.

Thus, one of my favorite quotes by Norman Vincent Peale
”Believe in yourself, have faith in your abilities without a humble but reasonable confidence in your own powers, you cannot be successful or happy”.

You don’t just sit at home waiting for miracles or trying to depend on a friend or someone that is putting all his effort trying to achieve it in life. Don’t be a parasite to anybody, start something today!

Get motivated and get that dream of yours achieved, you never can tell or predict the future, our destinies lies on our palms and your dream can be achievable if you motivate yourself and start something doing for yourself.

Remove that pride and ego of BOSS or BOSS LADY in you, be loyal to yourself, don’t think of what your mates will say, your age doesn’t matter neither does the ego in you matters.

Vera Wang she actually had dreams of becoming an Olympic figure Skater, after her dream was crushed when she failed to make the team, she entered the fashion industry at the age of 40, later becoming one of the world’s most respected names in fashion.

You need to be willing to devote your life to your dreams and goals. I know that is easier said than done, but you have to start today to make plans on how to turn your dream into reality and success.
Remember, It is never too late to be what you might have been – George Eliot

Eliminate fear and embrace your Dream.

Fear is one of the most powerful emotions. It has a very strong effect on your mind and body.
Fear is an unpleasant emotion or thought that we have when we are frightened or worried by something dangerous, painful, or bad that is happening or might happen.
When you give fear a room in your life, you will end up not embracing your dream.

Fear in human beings may occur in response to a certain stimulus occurring in the present, or in anticipation or expectation of a future threat perceived as a risk to oneself. When we confront a perceived threat, our bodies respond in specific ways physical reactions to fear include sweating, increased heart rate and high adrenaline levels that makes us extremely alert.

Fear makes us to dwell in procrastination, because ordinarily, we will just stand up, strong and eager to achieve that dream we have always had in mind, but due to the fear in us we keep on procrastinating our desired goals.

Life is too fast to wait for anyone and the clock doesn’t stop to wait for anyone either, try your possible best to eliminate the fear in you and embrace your desired dream. It could be your dream to own a business, or even be one of the top Celebrities in the world but due to the in born fear in us we can’t take a step forward towards achieving that which we desire.

Eliminate fear and take the bold step.
CANCEL, WHAT DISTURBS YOUR PERSONAL GROWTH

You might have come across the term personal growth and wondered what it means. Personal growth is also called self-improvement and self- growth.
Personal growth is the ongoing process of understanding and developing oneself in order to achieve one’s fullest potential.

Personal development is a vital part in a person’s growth, maturity, success and happiness. It is the foundation of emotions, physical, intellectual and spiritual health.
Many of our actions may be geared towards self-improvement. However, personal growth has a profound effect on every aspect of our life. We feel more passionate about life in general when we grow on a personal level. We get naturally motivated because learning and growing add motivation and a sense of excitement.

Personal development covers activities that improve awareness and identity, develop talents and potential, build human capital and facilitate employability, enhance the quality of life and contribute to the realization of dreams and aspirations.
Personal development takes place over the course of a person’s entire life.

Successful personal growth requires motivation, the desire to improve and the willingness to strive to make changes. You may also need to be willing to get out of your comfort zone and sometimes do things that are uncomfortable but are for your own good.
An open mind and the desire to learn and grow are also important.

Examine yourself, watch yourself, be aware of yourself, and don’t be afraid of difficulties, losses or hard times.
Build yourself, your reality and be a winner.

COVID-19: WORST HUMANITARIAN CRISIS SINCE WWII LOOMS ― WORLD FOOD PROGRAME

World Food Program, WFP, the U.N. food agency has warned that the world is “on the brink of a hunger pandemic,” as it struggles to contain COVID-19. WFP Executive Director David Beasley told the U.N. Security Council on Tuesday that “2020 would be facing the worst humanitarian crisis since World War II.”

“ 821 million people go to bed hungry every night all over the world, chronically hungry. And as Dr Chu just pointed out as the new global report on food crises, that’s published today shows there are a further 135 million people facing crisis levels of hunger or worse. “That means 135 million people on earth are marching toward the brink of starvation,” Beasley underlined

As a result of COVID-19 an additional 130 million people “could be pushed to the brink of starvation by the end of 2020, according to a World Food Program analysis.” Beasley, who is recovering from COVID-19, warned that in a worst-case scenario “we could be looking at famine in about three dozen countries.”

Cancel, what disturbs your Peace

Peace is a very strong and effective word. What makes you feel that your life is peaceful, smooth and simple? It's 'YOU'
When  you are satisfied from inside, feel blessed for whatever you have, when you don't crave for more in your life ( wanting better is good but sacrificing everything for that is not much of a help) then at that point you will realize you are pleased with yourself, with your company.
There will be a sense of fulfillment and that is what I call `PEACE’.
Keeping your soul satisfied is what we all want but very few of us are able to achieve that and once you have satisfied your soul, everything will be peaceful and harmonious.

Attaining peace is not an examination where you could copy or where you write the answers by copying from your friend's answer sheet. No, you have to explore this by yourself, spend some time with yourself without any tension or something bothering you.
Think of what you want and check if you are satisfied with whatever you are doing or is there anything you want to change?
Are you really happy or are you sad?
Have a discussion with yourself, do some things which take you back to your childhood. Live your life happily; live like a child once in a while. Do things which make your soul happy and you'll realize that you have "peace" in your life.
When you have peace, you can think clearly and this is the basic prerequisite for optimal results in every area of your life.
Don’t take things too serious!

Be laid- back and open minded, explore new things, improve your health by adapting a few lifestyle changes.
If you focus on taking care of yourself, you can increase your health and your longevity and reduce your incidence of injury and illness.

It is important to dedicate yourself fully to improving your health. Don’t get discouraged, if you have a bad day and slip up on your healthy living plan, let it go; forgive yourself and start anew the next day.
Always remember that “every disappointment is a blessing”.
Keeping your heart healthy and strong, helps lower your risk of heart diseases and heart attack.  Always realize that positive thinking is very essential in order to be healthy. Clear out your mind of all negative thoughts and fill it with positive ones.
You will have to remove all the depressing and negative emotions and thoughts from your mind and replace it with healthy and positive thoughts. These positive thoughts can be extremely energizing and always lead to good things in life. You can get involved in practices such as meditation and yoga to get rid of the negativity. Force yourself with positive thoughts.

In the quest to achieve a healthy body, we cannot be lazy and lethargic. We need to work hard, both physically and mentally to be fit and healthy.
Exercise and eating healthy foods is essential to promote a healthy body. Smiling a lot makes your face look younger and it feels great.

You can’t do a good job, if you don’t feel well. Being healthy makes you feel good and allows you to perform more effectively.
You can maintain your health by taking care of yourself and avoiding toxic situations.

Good morning.

With Perseverance, success is assured!

"Determination brings success” as we rightly say or when advising people.
Have you ever wondered how some famous personalities achieved great heights of success? How did they stay positive despite failure? However, they kept on going, remained persistent, and their perseverance helped them to reach the peak of the mountain.

Research has found that perseverance is a primary character strength linked to school achievement, productivity and success at work. Your perseverance keeps you engaged, focused and connected with what you are doing, perseverance is not only a strength to help you accomplish your goals and dreams, it is also your strength of engagement.

Start taking full ownership of the goals you have set to achieve, you perceive to control your own fate, start thinking as a firm believer as if your destiny is in your hands.

Although, failure at the start or beginning of the project or task can lead to frustration, and it shatters the self-confidence you had at the beginning and you might be considering on giving up that your goal or dreams because you once failed and you didn’t feel you can ever succeed in life; wrong.
Remember Stephen Grover Cleveland was an American politician and lawyer who was the 22nd and 24th President of the United States. Grover Cleveland was elected President (1884) and then lost his re-election campaign (1888) and came back again to win the presidency for a second time (1892).
Similarly, just like Muhammadu Buhari, a current Nigerian politician, currently serving as the President of Nigeria, he unsuccessfully ran for the office of the President of Nigeria in the (2003), (2007) and (2011) general elections, but in December (2014), he emerged as the presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress for the March (2015) general elections. Buhari won the election defeating the incumbent President Goodluck Jonathan and this marked the first time in the history of Nigeria that an incumbent President lost to an opposition candidate in a general election.

Success isn’t a way, path or a straight line. It is a confused road with various ups and downs, and you should navigate it with popular care. You might fall or fail in the beginning or even get lost in your way. However, with perseverance, you will eventually reach your destination.
Maintaining a Healthy Relationship

Culture says that chemistry and compatibility are keys to an enjoyable marriage, but character and commitment are really the essential qualities.
We live in a society where we are pressurized to talk about relationships and actively pursue them. For you to flourish in your relationship all you need is a little “Attention” and “Intention” also lots of nourishment.

Every relationship requires hard work, wisdom and the grace of God to move on and hold on every move you make each day. However, if you want to maintain a healthy relationship, you have to work on keeping the romance alive and on continuing to grow each day with your partner and as an individual. Though the process is not always easy, but you can make relationship thrive if you and your partner are willing to put in effort.
One thing you should know is that no relationship is perfect all the time. A healthy relationship takes more than attraction both people feel good about the relationship most of the time.
If your marriage is not as rosy as you expected it to be, you don’t need to feel bad or quarrel with yourself because there is hope and light.

Always politely talk to your partner about things that you think could be better. Good communication is a big part of solving problems. If you have problems with working through things on your own, you might consider getting help from a counselor. Sometimes talking with a counselor or a therapist can help couples work through issues and improve their relationships.

Every relationship is unique and people come together for many different reasons. Part of what defines a healthy relationship is sharing a common goal for exactly what you want the relationship to be and where you want it to go.
The big question here is, is there freedom in marriage or when single?

Some people will say that when you are single, you are your own boss because you get to choose what you want and when you want it while some will say you give up all your freedom when you are married, everything you want to do has to be discussed and agreed upon with your partner.

When we talk about freedom, we are talking about the ability to pursue happiness not to be hindered by undue stress or pressure and to have a hopeful vision for the future.  In terms of your marriage, this kind of freedom is absolutely attainable that is if you take your time to build and maintain a strong and healthy relationship.

If what freedom means to you is doing exactly what you want, the way you want it, whenever you want it, then you will have to give up on that part when getting married because you are going to live with another person who also want to do certain things in a certain way but with good understanding, commitment and good communication you can do what you want provided both of you understand it or agree. But if one of the couple thinks freedom means to hang out and spend the nights away with their friends, leaving the other behind, then marriage doesn’t work that way. I believe marriage is for people who enjoy their togetherness and family life.

Finding a compatible partner is very significant and many people feel trapped in marriage because they married the wrong person. However, you need to focus on two things; one is the level of your commitment and secondly is finding the right partner.
You and your partner will entangle your lives, most of your chores will affect each other to some extent. Your partner is likely to have opinions about choices you make that affects them but it’s wise to take these effects into consideration when making choices. Even though some partners don’t like thinking about someone else when deciding what to do which is why some people perceive this as loss of freedom hence thinking that they are being used and controlled. Marry someone who respects your autonomy, values and collaborative decision making on issues that affect both of you.

If you get married to a compatible partner and you have a healthy relationship, you won’t lose your freedom. Good relationships do not restrain you, rather they allow you to grow and they support you in exploring the things you want to explore.

Remember, you don’t have to walk into marriage with the same thought of having things done your own way, being your own boss, choose what you want and when you want it, it has to be agreed and done with your partner. When you are single, you may have more freedom to come and go as you please. The reason for that is because nobody cares and marriage is a social contract where we give up certain freedoms for the benefit of what the relationship could bring to us compared to being single.
But you have to ask yourself, is the benefits of a relationship worth the sacrifice of your personal freedom? The answer to that question depends on you and your partner.

Good morning.
WHO APPOINTS OKONJO-IWEALA AS COVID-19 SPECIAL ENVOY

The World Health Organisation (WHO) has named Nigeria’s two-term former Minister of Finance and former Managing Director (Operations) of the World Bank, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, as a Special Envoy for its newly inaugurated Access to COVID-19 Tools (ACT) Accelerator.
WHO’s Director-General, Dr. Tedros Ghebreyesus, disclosed this during the launch of the ACT Accelerator, through an online conference that took place in Geneva.

Okonjo-Iweala, who is the Board Chairperson of GAVI Alliance, is to serve together with British Business Executive, Andrew Witty, in the same capacity. They are expected to mobilise international commitment to the initiative.
The initiative is an international collaboration aimed at accelerating the development, production, and equitable distribution of COVID-18 drugs, tests kits, and vaccines around the world.
Ghebreyesus explained: “The COVID-19 pandemic is an unprecedented global crisis that has been met with an unprecedented global response. Research and development have played a central role.
“Since January, WHO has been working with thousands of researchers all over the world to accelerate and track vaccine development – from developing animal models to clinical trial designs, and everything in between. We’ve also developed diagnostics that are being used all over the world. And we’re coordinating a global trial on the safety and efficacy of four therapeutics against COVID-19.
“The world needs these tools, and it needs them fast. Past experience has taught us that even when tools are available, they have not been equally available to all.  We cannot allow that to happen.  Today, WHO is proud to be uniting with many partners to launch the Access to COVID-19 Tools Accelerator, or the ACT Accelerator. This is a landmark collaboration to accelerate the development, production and equitable distribution of vaccines, diagnostics, and therapeutics for COVID-19.”
